Opening Chests
There are 4 tools and multiple trap types. This is a guide
as to use which tool on which piece of trap to give you
the highest percentage chance to disarm it.
Trap - Type Use
Latch - Lever
Poison - Tanks Ratchet
Tripwire - Lever
Nozzles - Lever
Pressure - Plate Cutter
Blades - Cutters
Springs & Gears - Lever
Fire Oil Mixer - Ratchet
Needles - Ratchet
Some strategy tips:
Don't bother getting your lock picking or trap disarming
skills above 60% or so. You should spend your point raising
other skills.
Buy as many magic books and scrolls as you can, but try
to keep them as long as you can. In the game when you
gain a lever you get 100 exp points to distribute among
all of your stats. Early in the game 1 exp point raises
a stat by 1 point. Later in the game when you stats have
reached say 90% it takes 5 exp points to raise your stat
1 point. If you save the magic books and scrolls which
raise you either 5 or 10 points they are saving you between
25 and 50 exp point at higher levels. I suggest waiting
to use them until your magic ability is 60% or better
in each area. For optimum use wait until you have reached
80% plus.
